You're not like the others.
You want more.

You want to be better, faster, and stronger. You're looking for a challenge.

We can help you find it. Our team of experts have the knowledge and experience to help you achieve your goals - whatever they may be. We'll work with you every step of the way, so you can reach your full potential and become the best version of yourself. Our systems have been built around the following key areas - Long Term Athletic Development (LTAD), Performance, and Injury Risk Reduction.

Why Strength and Conditioning?

Combining your Physiotherapy rehabilitation program with a strength and conditioning program is especially important in the rehabilitation and full return to function of an injured athlete. That’s why we offer an integrated rehabilitation program that includes both services.

Our team is highly qualified and we’ve gained our experience working closely with elite and semi-professional from the court, field, and individual-based sports. Paired with our experience and education, we’ve developed systems and methods, and utilise world class technology to make you the most robust, resilient and ultimate athlete you can be. You can work with us 1-on-1 or join our Elite REHAB Program.

Whether your goals are to increase strength, power, speed, agility, flexibility, mobility, muscular endurance, balance, coordination, motor control and/or cardiovascular capacity, RSP will ensure your needs are met.

How We Work

Our physiotherapy services help athletes rehabilitate from pain and recover from sports injuries. We will work with you beyond just recovery and rehabilitation using our three core pillars:

REHAB. STRENGTH. PERFORMANCE.

REHAB.

Our initial focus will be your REHAB and recovery, starting with a thorough assessment and diagnosis. From there, we’ll help you understand your diagnosis, the short and long-term phases of your rehabilitation, and we’ll connect your rehabilitation to your personal goals. Your short-term treatment plan will include proper nutrition, strength and conditioning, and manual physiotherapy.

STRENGTH.

To get the best outcomes for you, we’ll identify all the areas that need improvement. By doing this, we’ll be working on your body as a whole. Building your body's strength can optimise the systems required to promote muscle growth, improve joint stability, and enhance recovery so you can work smarter, not harder.

PERFORMANCE.

Together, we’ll define what performance means to you and we’ll work with you to to the very end to ensure you return to the activity or sport you love. We don’t stop there though; we’ll aim to help you exceed your expectations. We’re here to support your journey and make sure you’ve rehabilitated and return as a better and more robust athlete.

At RSP Sports Physio, we don’t stop at treating symptoms. We’re not satisfied until you can not only get back in the game but play harder than ever before.

Long term athletic development (LTAD)

We are extremely passionate about long term athletic development to build both sporting excellence and for long term participation in an active life. We take pride in our approach by ensuring our methods are planned, systematic, progressive and developmentally appropriate.

Whether you are a child, teenager or adult, you will all be developing at different times, and so will your training age and level of experience. Research has highlighted the importance of developing fundamental skills and movements from a young age to optimise performance and long-term athletic success.

According to the Australian Strength and Conditioning Association, high-performance sports centres in Australia (e.g. Institutes, Academies, AFL, NRL Super Rugby, NBL, A-League, etc.) have reported large increases in teenage athletes with extensive limitations in their athletic and functional abilities, as well as screenings detailing a long list of injuries. It can be suggested this may be due to the lack of consideration for basic training, and too much time spent competing. It can be therefore suggested that their future sport performance may be negatively affected due to the lack of time spent developing fundamental skills and movement qualities from a young age.

At RSP Sports Physiotherapy, we will meet you wherever you are at! We will utilise our systems, along with the LATD framework to ensure you progress along at a time, age and developmentally appropriate rate.

Performance

With the rise of the fitness industry coupled with the influence of social media, the amount of information about training for high performance is overwhelming. Athletes of all ages are frequently mis-guided by gimmicks, fads and quick fixes, or are following programs or doing exercises that their “idol” athletes are doing.

At RSP Sports Physiotherapy, our team are university university-qualified, with certifications from the highest governing bodies of strength and conditioning in both Australia and the USA. Our team has several years of experience working as S&C Coaches across a wide variety of sporting codes. We have worked closely with professional, semi-professional and NCAA Division 1 athletes from court, field and individual-based sports.

Along with our experience and education, we have developed systems and methods, and utilise world-class technology to make you the most robust, resilient and ultimate athlete you can be.

Whether your goals are to increase strength, power, speed, agility, flexibility, mobility, muscular endurance, balance, coordination, motor control and/or cardiovascular capacity, RSP Sports Physiotherapy will ensure your needs are met.

Injury risk reduction

The importance of strength and conditioning for reducing the risk of injury has been well documented among all populations.

A proper periodised, systemised and appropriately implemented strength and conditioning program has shown to significantly reduce the risk of injuries such as ACL and ankle sprains, hamstring, hip flexor, adductor and low back strains, shoulder dislocations, stress fractures, and concussions.

Resistance training has shown to be effective in improving qualities of both our active and passive structures. This includes but is not limited to bone quality, muscle fibre fascicle length and size, ligament strength, and soft tissue capacity and resilience.

Training focused on coordination, motor-control, proprioception, and agility are also very successful in not only increasing performance but reducing injury risk.

As well as reducing the risk of injury, strength and conditioning training has been shown to provide numerous benefits for individuals with diseases such as Sever’s, Osgood-Schlatter’s, Juvenile arthritis’ and osteoarthritis.

With our dual qualified practitioners, we are the best equipped professional to provide first class care to ensure we are optimising your performance and reducing the risk of injury.
